Client:
The Edinburgh Corn Exchange
Product: 650sqm-building wrap

What
the client wanted
In
2005, the Edinburgh Corn Exchange Village, a premier conference
and entertainment venue set on a nine-acre site within the capital
city, commissioned Hi-fli Banners & Flags to create a bespoke
banner to help promote the complex.
The
Corn Exchange had recently undergone a major revamp of its banqueting
and sporting facilities and wished to publicise the types of events
that can be hosted at the venue, which includes conference, exhibition
and banqueting suites, a concert hall, indoor football pitches,
a ten-pin bowling alley, American Pool room and sports bar.
What
the client got
A
mega banner, believed to be Scotland's biggest banner project to
date, was produced and is displayed in two parts, with one section
measuring 44.4M long by 4M high and another measuring 80M long by
7M high.
The
banner was installed and wrapped around the walls of the indoor
football pitches and features images of events held at the venue
including, pictures of Oasis front man Liam Gallagher, DJ Shadow,
conferences, exhibitions, weddings and awards dinners. Easily dismantled
into five sections for transportation and storage.
Why
the client chose Hi-fli
The
Corn Exchange chose Hi-fli to create the banner due to our track
record of producing large format work for clients including The
V Festival, Glastonbury, as well as major sporting events.
Paul
Demarco, Director of the Edinburgh Corn Exchange said: "We
approached Hi-fli because of their green credentials and expertise
of similar projects. I felt that it was important for people to
see the kind of events that the Corn Exchange can cater for and
being able to visually illustrate this on such a large scale is
great for us. We recently had a revamp of the venue and wanted to
advertise this in a way which was different, and Hi-fli have certainly
helped us to achieve this."
